Lightbulb Hairdresser Idea..

Hi all,

This is my idea on how to improve the game. It has always bothered me that there isn't a hairdresser anywhere. I'm not happy with the haircut I chose for a charac of mine, but I can't change it anymore now.
In such a magical game it should be possible to do some magic trick and change one's haircut. I think it would make people really happy. It should be expensive though. 1k-2k is a fair price. Or you could make it like this, other hair style 2k other hair colour 1k.

What d'ya say..?

Sounds like a good idea. It would add variety to the game (which anet if you are listening is a very good thing) So yeah i like the idea.

I concur...GREAT idea! I am not a programmer, so don't know the amount of work involved in this... BUT, the interface could be similiar to that of the cape designer. We can change the capes for a fee...why not hair color and style. Change interface could bring up colors and hairstyles. And i agree, the 1-2K price would be worth it. Especially when you decide to change colors of armor and want to match your hair color to it, or the style...nice for a Winterdsay/holiday dress up and show off event, or bad dude - don't mess with me look. FURTHERMORE, it is another way for Anet to get that farming gold back into the system.

I think its a good idea....I for one would change the hair/color on at least one of my 3 L20 charas which i am not going to scrap JUST because I now do not care for the hair....

Bring it on ANET!

This sounds like a pretty good idea, and more goldsinks are never a bad thing.

Thanks for all the replys. I never used the search engine to find out of more people posted this idea, so sorry about that...
But, should there be made more hairstyles and colours too or should they just stick with the ones they have right now..?

/signed, it'd also be great to have one in the Guild Hall with perhaps a bigger variety or a cheaper price which would encourage people to join guilds.

Since the newer version of this thread was closed, I just wanted to respond to a comment that was made there...especially as there hasn't been very much in-depth discussion on the subject in this thread.

Quote:
Eeee and look like Michel Jackson? No thx... No plastic surgeon plz ArenaNet .
I should mention that I never said anything about looking like Michael Jackson, lol. I simply used the term "plastic surgeon" to make reference to the idea that we should be able to change our characters' faces and hair within the game, without needing to begin the entire game over again each time we want to make a purely cosmetic change.

Here is my original post, which might add just a little depth to the thread:

I think that one of the bigger updates should include full in-game styling options. And there's one primary reason why.

When I'm playing as a character and I've gone through a certain amount of the game, I might get tired of that character's hair or face or whatever. But if I've been playing for hours already, the only way to make the change would be to begin again with a new character. And starting the game over and over again can be a pain, unless you're actually changing jobs as well.

So I think it would be great to have some kind of in-game plastic surgeon, lol. I mean, somewhere where you can change your hair style, colour and even your face and skin tone (but not your armor, as armor affects stats and so on).

Even if making these changes were to be considerably expensive, I think it'd be worthwhile. I can imagine the developers adding new hair styles and colours and stuff as time goes by, perhaps even at different prices or something. There's no reason why this type of addition couldn't be done in a similar fashion to dye (ie: something market-based).

Considering that these changes are cosmetic and do not have an impact on a character's stats, I don't really think there's much danger in adding a very significant in-game styling option. It'd certainly keep me playing more regularly and pushing my existing characters even further.

This is a very old suggestiosn and I agree with it.

There should be face/hair type, color and height changes. (basically everything in the pvp character creation that is appearance except for dyes)

I think that's actually a really good idea, especially due to the expensive cost of the Guild Hall itself. Having cheaper and more varied styling options would actually provide added incentive to create a guild and build a Guild Hall. It would also mean that guild members could match their hair colours or something like that, if they wanted to, so that they could edit existing characters for a more uniform style. I see lots of advantages to that.

Although I would like to see every professions hairstyles available for purchase, i don't see why necros should be the only ones to get cornrows ^^. Make better hairstyles more expensive (like in GTA: San Andreas) too!

My idea:
Have an "account manager" NPC. When you talk to him you get options like being able to change password, things like that in-game, and you can "Recustomize" Character Appearance for a small amount of gold. You could have one NPC like this in every major town, like Ascalon and Lions Arch.

Good Idea but it's really fake when you can change your face. Ok!, the game is all about magic so they could make some spell to change your face, but I still don't like the idea of a "face changer".
In the Dark Ageas ppl changed their haricuts too, so why not in the "GW-ages". It's real too, everyone changes his haircut now and then.
So plz Anet read this thread and make a hairdresser. Maybe a "face changer" too.

My wife agrees with the hair dresser idea. When we tried the Nightfall Preview Event she was able to experiment with some new characters. One of the characters that she was looking forward to making, as soon as Nightfall came out, was a Necromancer with purple hair. Although, when the game came out, they took purple out of the options. Now she refuses to make the Necromancer until the purple hair is put back in.
